Ingredients

For the Strawberries
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries Choose ripe strawberries for the best sweetness and flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar Adds a delightful tang; apple cider vinegar is a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Sweetens the strawberries; use maple syrup for a vegan-friendly alternative.
For the Cream Layer
  • 1 cup Vanilla Yogurt Opt for dairy-free yogurt for a vegan option.
  • 1 cup Whipped Cream Non-dairy whipped topping works beautifully for a vegan version.
For Garnish (Optional)
  • 2 sprigs Fresh Mint or Basil Adds a pop of color and a hint of herbal freshness.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • serving bowls
  • spatula
  • plastic wrap

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Begin by washing your fresh strawberries under cold water. Pat them dry gently with a clean kitchen towel, then remove the green tops. Slice the strawberries into uniform pieces, about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Place the sliced strawberries into a medium mixing bowl. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the strawberries and add honey to sweeten. Gently toss the strawberries until they are well-coated in the mixture. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Grab serving bowls or glasses. In a separate bowl, scoop out the vanilla yogurt. Use a spatula to smooth it into the bottom of each serving bowl.
  4. After the strawberries have macerated, spoon a generous amount of the balsamic macerated strawberries over the layer of vanilla yogurt in each bowl, including some of the balsamic juices.
  5. Top each serving with a delightful dollop of whipped cream. If you prefer a vegan option, use a non-dairy whipped topping.
  6. Optionally, garnish each bowl with fresh mint or basil leaves. Serve immediately and enjoy.
