Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté ½ cup of chopped onion for about 3-4 minutes until soft.
  3. Add 1 minced garlic clove, 1 teaspoon each of dried sage and thyme, and ¼ teaspoon each of pepper and salt. Then, add 1 pound of sausage meat and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  5. Place spoonfuls of filling along one edge of the pastry and roll tightly, sealing the edges.
  6. Slice the roll into 2-inch pieces and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Make slits on top and brush with beaten egg. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving warm with sauces like mustard or cranberry.
