Making Strawberry Brownies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the boxed fudge brownie mix according to the package instructions.
  2. Pour the brownie batter into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  3. Let the brownies cool completely in the dish.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Whisk in ½ teaspoon of strawberry extract, 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream, and 2 cups of powdered sugar until smooth.
  5. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the cooled brownie layer.
  6. In a separate saucepan, heat ½ cup of heavy whipping cream until simmering. Pour over ¾ cup of dark chocolate chips and let sit for 5 minutes to melt.
  7. Whisk until smooth, then pour the ganache over the strawberry layer.
  8. Let the brownies set at room temperature for 15-30 minutes before cutting into squares. Optionally drizzle with chocolate syrup and garnish with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
