  • 1 tsp Dried Sage Alternative: Italian seasoning blend.
  • 1 tsp Dried Thyme Substitute with any dried herbs.
  • 0.25 tsp Ground Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 0.25 tsp Salt Use less for a low-sodium option.
For the Pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Thawed.
For the Egg Wash
  • 1 large Egg Beaten.
For Cooking
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil Can use any cooking oil.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, sauté onion and garlic until translucent, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl, mix with sausage meat, sage, thyme, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Transfer sausage mixture into logs on the edge of the pastry, roll tightly and seal the edges.
  5. Slice the roll into 2-inch pieces, place on a baking sheet, and brush with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
