Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Garlic Naan Bread
  1. Combine 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and ¾ cup of warm water in a small bowl. Stir gently and let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Make a well in the center and add in the activated yeast mixture, ¾ cup of plain yogurt, and 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee.
  3. Place your kneaded dough into a lightly greased bowl, cover the bowl, and set it in a warm spot for approximately 1 hour.
  4. Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, and roll each piece into a ball.
  5. Heat a greased skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place one naan in the pan and cook for about 1 minute.
  6. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of melted butter with 2 cloves of minced garlic. Brush the garlic butter mixture over each naan while they’re still warm.
