Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly coat a 13x9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine uncooked penne pasta, marinara sauce, water, salt, black pepper, and raw chicken pieces. Stir until well incorporated.
  3. Transfer the chicken and pasta mixture into your prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes, remove the foil, and check the mixture for firmness and liquid state.
  5. Stir the casserole mixture gently and top with shredded mozzarella cheese, panko breadcrumbs, and grated Parmesan.
  6. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  7. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
