- Gradually add hot milk to the egg mixture while whisking to prevent scrambling.
- Return the mixture to heat and stir until thickened, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Gently fold egg whites into the custard mixture in a figure-eight motion.
