Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a soufflé dish.
  2. Heat 1 cup of milk in a saucepan until simmering, then remove from heat.
  3. Whisk together egg yolks, sugar, flour, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  4. Gradually add hot milk to the egg mixture while whisking to prevent scrambling.
  5. Return the mixture to heat and stir until thickened, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  7. Gently fold egg whites into the custard mixture in a figure-eight motion.
  8. Pour mixture into the prepared dish, leaving space for rising.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve immediately, optionally dusted with powdered sugar and fresh berries.
