Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by liberally seasoning the flat cut beef brisket with salt and pepper, ensuring every inch is covered for maximum flavor. Allow the brisket to sit for about 10 minutes.
- Set your Instant Pot to the sauté function and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is hot, toss in 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and 1/4 cup of diced onion. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onions become translucent.
- Carefully place the seasoned brisket into the pot, browning it for approximately 3 minutes on each side for added flavor.
- Pour in 1 cup of beef broth and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, stirring gently to incorporate any browned bits. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of rosemary and 1 teaspoon of thyme.
- Close the lid, set the pressure release valve to sealed position, and manually cook the brisket for 45 minutes.
- Once the cooking time is up, allow the Instant Pot to naturally release pressure for 30 minutes before opening.
- Remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing it against the grain.
