  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Allspice works as an alternative
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest Can substitute with lemon zest

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and gather your cooking equipment.
  2. Score the surface of the ham with diagonal cuts about 1/4 inch deep.
  3. Combine honey, brown sugar, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and orange zest in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 15-30 seconds.
  4. Place the scored ham cut side down in the baking dish and add a small amount of water.
  5. Brush the warm glaze generously over the ham and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake the ham for about 1.5 hours, glazing again midway.
  7. In the last 45 minutes, remove foil and baste the ham every 15 minutes.
  8. Once baked, remove from oven and let the ham rest before slicing.
