Preparation Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brush a 9x5-inch loaf pan with 3 tablespoons of melted unsalted Irish butter.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Stir in the shredded Irish cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  5. Create a well in the center of your dry ingredients, then pour in the Irish beer. Mix gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan, leveling the top.
  7. Pour the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the top of the batter.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through for even baking.
  9. While the bread is baking, melt the 2 tablespoons of unsalted Irish butter in a small saucepan and stir in the parsley and garlic powder.
  10. Brush the top of the bread with the garlic butter mixture as soon as it comes out of the oven.
  11. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  12. Once cooled, slice and serve warm with butter, soups, or stews.
