  • 4 cloves garlic Fresh minced garlic is recommended.
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine Can substitute with chicken broth or white grape juice.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed is preferred.
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon zest Always use fresh zest for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground pepper is best.
For the Main Dish
  • 1 pound asparagus Chopped into 1" pieces.
  • 1 pound raw shrimp Patted dry; use fresh or thawed frozen shrimp.
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil Finely chopped.

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Melt the butter in a large sauté pan over medium heat until it begins to brown slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add crushed red pepper flakes and minced garlic to the pan; sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in dry white wine and simmer for about 2 minutes until slightly reduced.
  4. Stir in fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper; cook for 2 minutes until bubbling.
  5. Add chopped asparagus and sauté for about 2 minutes until vibrant and slightly tender.
  6. Add raw shrimp and simmer for 5-7 minutes until shrimp turns opaque and pink.
  7. Stir in chopped fresh basil before removing from heat.
