- Roll out the prepared pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s about ¼ inch thick. Cut into 8 equal squares or circles.
- In the center of each dough piece, place 1 teaspoon of pizza sauce, followed by 3 slices of pepperoni and a cube of mozzarella cheese.
- Gather edges of the dough around the filling and pinch together to form a tight seal.
- Using kitchen twine, wrap around the middle of each dough ball to create sections resembling a pumpkin.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the beaten egg, paprika, and turmeric. Apply to each pumpkin with a pastry brush.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the Pizza Pumpkins in a single layer in the basket and cook for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, flip the pumpkins and continue to air fry for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from air fryer, cut off the twine, and add pretzel twists and basil leaves for garnish. Serve hot with extra pizza sauce.
