  • 4 pieces Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1 cup Coarsely Crushed Pretzels or crushed cornflakes for gluten-free
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour or gluten-free flour
  • 2 large Eggs
For the Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard or yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder or finely chopped green onions
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Mustard-Cheddar Sauce
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese or dairy-free cheese
  • 1/2 cup Milk or almond/oat milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Set up breading station with three bowls for flour, egg mixture, and crushed pretzels.
  4. Bread each chicken breast by coating in flour, dipping in egg, and rolling in crushed pretzels.
  5. Place coated chicken on the baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. In a saucepan, combine milk, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce over medium heat until warm.
  7. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve the chicken topped with mustard-cheddar sauce.
