Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Cut day-old bread into one-inch cubes and spread them on a baking sheet. Toast for 10-12 minutes until dry but not browned.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion, chopped celery, and minced garlic. Sauté for 6-8 minutes until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, combine toasted bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Add eggs and broth, mixing until moist but not soggy.
  4. Shape the mixture into 2-inch balls. Place on a greased baking sheet with space in between.
  5. Increase oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm, optionally garnished with parsley, alongside gravy or cranberry sauce.
